1 Research Grant for Post-Doctoral Fellow
Call open from January 16th to 29th

The Argumentation Lab of the NOVA Institute of Philosophy, NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal, is seeking to recruit one Post-Doctoral Fellow in the scope of the Project MultiPoD – Multilingual and Multicultural Spaces for Political Deliberation, funded by the European Commission under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme. Requirements and additional Information

Admission requirements:


  • hold a doctoral degree in Philosophy or a related field obtained in the three years prior to the date of submission of the grant application;
  • have carried out the research work that led to the award of the doctoral degree at an institution other than the one hosting the grant;
  • not exceed, with the conclusion of the grant contract in question, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of three years in this type of grant, consecutive or interpolated;
  • not have previously held a post-doctoral research grant with the FCSH.

Preference will be given to applications that fulfil the following requirements:


  • fluency in English and Portuguese (or Spanish);
  • research experience in Argumentation Theory, Philosophy of Language, or Political Philosophy;
  • experience working in funded research projects;
  • ability to work in an interdisciplinary and multilingual research team environment.

The grant is expected to start in March 2025.


The scholarship amount is 1801,00€ per month according to the table of scholarship values directly attributed by FCT, I.P. in the country. To this value is added the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as the personal accident insurance.

The call is open between January 16, 2025 and 11h59 PM (Lisbon time) on January 29, 2025.
