Reading Group — José Medina, The Epistemology of Protest

Discussion of the first chapter

The Reading Group — José Medina, The Epistemology of Protest will meet regularly until April 2025 to discuss José Medina’s book, The Epistemology of Protest: Silencing, Epistemic Activism, and the Communicative Life of Resistance (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2023). The sessions will take place online, via Zoom, at 3 PM (Lisbon time). The second session, scheduled for November 7, will be dedicated to discussing the book’s first chapter.

24th October – Introductory session (read the introduction to the book)
7th November – Discuss first chapter
28th November – Discuss second chapter
12th December – Discuss third chapter
16th January – Discuss fourth chapter
6th February – Discuss the first half of the fifth chapter
27th February – Discuss the second half of the fifth chapter
20th March – Discuss the sixth chapter
10th April – Discuss seventh chapter


The Reading Group — José Medina, The Epistemology of Protest is coordinated by Robert Vinten (EPLab) and co-organized by Dima Mohammed (ArgLab), Maria Grazia Rossi (ArgLab), and Álvaro Domínguez-Armas. The sessions are open to all IFILNOVA members and the general public.
