The project FILM AND DEATH has just launched the first episode of their new podcast FILM AND DEATH TALKS.
The podcast FILM AND DEATH TALKS brings together conversations with filmmakers and other cinema practitioners with short critical reflections on films that offer different ways of thinking about death, mortality, memory, and time.
Each episode of FILM AND DEATH TALKS is formed by two parts: a conversation with a filmmaker or cinema practitioner about their work and about the ways questions of death and time emerge through film; and by “A Film to Think Death With”, a critical reflection on a film, drawing on film criticism and film theory to consider how death and time are articulated through narrative, editing, images, cinematic form and concepts.
The first episode features a conversation with filmmaker Bruno Forzani, co-director, with Hélène Cattet, of Reflections on a Dead Diamond (Reflet dans un diamant mort, 2025). The conversation is led by Vasco Baptista Marques and Marco Grosoli, followed by a critical reflection from the latter.
