Francesco Testini
Appointed Research Fellow

I am an FCT Junior Career Flow. My 6-years research project concerns the practice of legal punishment. Before coming to Ifilnova, I was an MCSA Fellow (Polonez Bis Program) at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Ethics (Jagiellonian University) in Krakow. I got my Ph.D. in Political Studies from the University of Milan and the University of Genova in 2021.

Besides the topic of punishment, my research interests comprise methodological issues in political theory, the dynamics of moral progress, the normativity of social norms, comparative ethics and the relationship between empirical and normative inquiry. I published quite a bit on the normative implications of genealogical arguments and their applications in political and moral philosophy.
