Ian Capillé (1991) is an editor and filmmaker, and a PhD student in Artistic Studies at the NOVA University Lisbon. He holds a BA in Cinema and Audiovisual from UFF (2017, Brazil) and a master’s degree in Multimedia Art from FBAUL (2023, Portugal), with the dissertation “House of Dreams: ghosts and realisms in contemporary cinema”. He is interested in hauntings, comedy, and secrets. He studied at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (2012, Brazil) and also attended the Center for Letters and Arts of Unirio (2015, Brazil), participating in theater groups and political collectives with a strong presence in Rio de Janeiro between 2012 and 2016. His films have been screened at festivals in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Italy, Greece, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the USA. He is part of Laboratório da Cave, a collective working dedicated to analog cinema, and a member of CORTE — the Portuguese Association of Film and Audiovisual Editors.
