Manuela Teles is a researcher in philosophy, specialising in language and value. Her research lies at the intersection of philosophy of language, epistemology, normativity, feminist philosophy, and aesthetics, and focuses on the ways in which thought, language, and reality are articulated, as well as on the limits of such articulation.
Between 2019 and 2025, she carried out this research as an FCT-funded researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Porto. Since 2026, she has continued this work as a Collaborator at the Institute of Philosophy of NOVA University Lisbon. Her work has been published in internationally recognised journals and edited volumes, including publications with Springer Nature and De Gruyter, as well as with established national presses.
She has taught undergraduate courses and postgraduate seminars in philosophy and visual arts in higher education. She has been actively involved in academic service, scientific organisation, and international research networks. In 2024, she served as Principal Investigator of the funded research project “Woman and Women in Philosophy: An Open Concept and a Hidden Inheritance”, coordinating a research team and delivering internationally visible outputs, including an international colloquium, editorial projects, and public-facing initiatives.
She continues to pursue an independent research agenda through ongoing publications, edited volumes, and collaborative projects.
