Maria João Mayer Branco
Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Subdirector of IFILNOVA

Maria João Mayer Branco is an Associate Professor at the Philosophy Department of the NOVA University Lisbon (Portugal) and she is the Subdirector of IFILNOVA. She studied at the NOVA University Lisbon and at the Università degli Studi di Pisa and worked extensively on Nietzsche, Kant, and Aesthetics. She is member and co-founder of the Nietzsche International Lab, member of the Seminario Permanente Nietzscheano – Centro Interdipartimentale Colli-Montinari di Studi su Nietzsche e la Cultura Europea (Università di Pisa, Lecce, Padova, Firenze), the GIRN (Groupe International de Recherches sur Nietzsche), and HyperNietzsche. She co-edited several volumes on Nietzsche published by Walter de Gruyter, Bloomsbury and tinta-da-china, and she published various papers on her main research interests in Portugal, Germany, France, Italy, Brazil, or Spain.
