André Santos Campos
Appointed Research Fellow

André Santos Campos (PhD 2009) is an Assistant Professor at the NOVA University Lisbon. His current research concentrates on issues that connect contemporary Political Theory with Jurisprudence and Intellectual History, such as intergenerational justice, democratic theory and early modern philosophy, especially Spinoza. He is a founding member of the editorial board of The Journal of Spinoza Studies. His publications have appeared in a wide range of highly-ranked journals and publishing houses, with a special emphasis on his books “Spinoza’s Revolutions in Natural Law” (Palgrave, 2012) and “The Semi-Future Democracy: A Liberal Theory of the Long-term View” (Edinburgh UP, 2024). Since 2018, he has been co-editor of the online Dicionário de Filosofia Moral e Política. In 2019, he was the recipient of the Brian Barry Prize in Political Science, attributed by the British Academy.
