
The special issue entitled “Atmosphere in Film” of the journal Ambiances, revue internationale sur l’environnement sensible, l’architecture et l’espace urbain (International Journal of Sensory Environment, Architecture and Urban Space) is now fully available online and in open access. The issue is edited by guest editors Patrícia Castello Branco (IFILNOVA – NOVA University Lisbon), Rosine Bénard O’Kelly (Aix-Marseille University), Rupert Cox (The University of Manchester), and Natacha Cyrulnik (CNRS).
This issue features a comprehensive introduction to the emerging field of research on atmospheres in film, as well as articles by Louise Bouvet-Zieleskiewicz, Andrea Pavoni, Olivier Gaudin, Isabelle Singer, and Charlie Hewison, along with a book review by Steffen Hven.
The issue represents a significant contribution to interdisciplinary studies on cinema, sensoriality, and visual and sonic atmospheres. It is highly recommended for all those interested in the intersections between art, space, and perception.
