Introdução a Nietzsche

Among the outcomes of the research project on “Nietzsche, Nihilism and the Value of Art” (PTDC/FER-FIL/30172/2017), this volume aims to introduce the reader to the thought of Friedrich Nietzsche, one of the most stimulating and controversial minds of the past centuries, an author who deeply marked the history of European culture.

The essays collected in this volume explore Nietzsche’s philosophical journey, revealing the unitary articulation within which the various issues he tackled — e.g. the problem of nihilism, the question of subjectivity, the issue of will and freedom, the critique of truth and values — fit into the thematic context of an investigation on modern culture whose primary aim is to genealogically reconstruct the origin of moral evaluations, observe their anthropological effects on mankind, and show us the path for further developments.
