Dina Mendonça discusses accessibility at the CCB
The initiative is part of the 25 April celebrations

Dina Mendonça, an integrated member of ArgLab/IFILNOVA, will take part on 25 April in the initiative Cidade Cultural Participativa, to be held at the Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB), in Lisbon. Part of the 25 April celebrations, the event features a series of “debates in the gardens”, bringing together cultural practitioners and philosophers to lead informal discussions on proposals for a more inclusive cultural democracy.

Dina Mendonça will co-lead the session “A acessibilidade é uma rampa?” (“Is accessibility a ramp?”), in partnership with Catarina Oliveira (Academia Access Lab). The session will take place in the Garden of the Grand Hall of the MAC/CCB – Museum of Contemporary Art and Centre for Architecture, and will focus on reflecting on accessibility rights and inclusion, exploring how cultural spaces and institutions can contribute to a more just and accessible city for all.

Organised by Fábrica das Artes at the CCB in partnership with the Assembleia da República, the initiative is structured around three thematic sessions, taking place simultaneously from 11:00 in different outdoor areas of the CCB. Each session will be led by a pair consisting of a philosophy facilitator and a cultural creator or mediator. At the end of the sessions, participants will gather in the Olive Grove Garden, where at 12:30 the main outcomes of the discussions will be presented, including conclusions, emerging questions and proposals for future action. This moment will also provide an opportunity for informal exchange among participants, who are encouraged to bring a picnic to extend the gathering.

Dina Mendonça’s participation in this event is part of the work carried out within IFILNOVA, reinforcing its commitment to the dissemination of critical thinking, civic participation and philosophical reflection applied to contemporary social challenges.
