CineMagia
CineMagia – Cinema and Philosophy at the Library is a program for children of all ages that combines fun and learning. With a schedule that intersperses short film screenings with animation workshops and poster creation, CineMagia aims to stimulate creativity and help children think about important values.
On October 19, CineMagia presents, in collaboration with animation artist Ana Dias, the workshop “Folded Words”, featuring the creation of an accordion book (leporello).
Writers are masters of words, and we will draw inspiration from them to fuel our imagination. Using drawing, we will fold, cut, illustrate, and create new visual poetry, paying homage to the authors highlighted throughout the month as part of the European Literature Night (October 12).
This program is developed by Marta Fiolić and Maria Irene Aparício, from the Cinema & Politics: Philosophical Approaches working group, and by illustrators and animators Catarina Gil and Ana Dias, as part of the activities of the Laboratory of Cinema & Philosophy (CineLab) and with the support of the Laboratory of Dissemination (OutLab) in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut.
Event supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology (Fundação para a Ciência e para a Tecnologia) of the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science under the projects UIDB/00183/2020 and UIDP/00183/2020.
