Online Reading Seminar

From AI Literacy to Generative AI Literacy

The project “TeachGenAI: Defining, promoting and assessing critical AI literacy for effective and responsible use of GenAI tools in teaching and learning” is organising an online reading seminar on 23 July, at 14:00 (Lisbon time / WEST), dedicated to a critical discussion of the book “From AI Literacy to Generative AI Literacy” (Springer, 2025).

Drawing on a critical reading of the volume, the session will reflect on some of the key questions currently shaping debates around artificial intelligence and education, including: “Can we be AI-literate?” and “How can AI literacy be measured?”. The seminar is aimed at researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds interested in the epistemological, pedagogical, and ethical challenges posed by generative AI tools in contemporary teaching and learning contexts.

The seminar will take place online via Google Meet.

Those interested in participating should write to João Barrulas at jpbarrulas@fcsh.unl.pt. Participants will subsequently receive a digital copy of the book, as well as the link to access the session.
