Ana Mira is an adjunct invited professor at Lisbon Theatre and Film School, Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and Ar.Co – Center of Arts and Visual Communication. She studied somatic practices and contemporary dance in Europe and the United States. Completed her doctorate in Philosophy/Aesthetics at School of Social Sciences and Humanities, NOVA University Lisbon (2014) under the guidance of José Gil, as a visiting researcher at Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, Kingston University and research fellow of Foundation for Science and Technology. She was a visiting researcher in the Department of Performance Studies, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University as a research fellow of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2007). She collaborates with IFILNOVA’s research group Art, Critique and Aesthetic Experience of CultureLab and artistic centres such as Porta33 and c.e.m. – centro em movimento. She collaborated with the following dance artists: Pauline de Groot, Russell Dumas, Rosemary Butcher and Deborah Hay. Also, she has published dance and philosophy essays internationally.
