Ana Mira is an adjunct invited professor at Lisbon Theatre and Film School – Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon and Ar.Co – Center for Art and Visual Communication on the subjects of the body, movement and dance, philosophy and aesthetics. She was trained in somatic practices and contemporary dance in Europe and United States and completed her doctorate in Philosophy /Aesthetics at Faculty of Human and Social Sciences – New University of Lisbon with the thesis “Silence, Potency and Gesture: a body in dance” (2014), under the supervision of the philosopher José Gil, a visiting scholar at Center for Research in Modern European Philosophy – Kingston University and a research fellow of Foundation for Science and Technology. She was a visiting scholar at the Performance Studies department at Tisch School of the Arts – New York University as a research fellow of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (2008). She collaborates with IFILNOVA’s research group Art, Critique and Aesthetic Experience of Culturelab and artistic centers such as Galeria Porta33 and c.e.m. – centro em movimento.
