Ekaterina comes from a documentary background, she has worked on long-term projects in Turkey, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Russia both independently and in collaboration with various media outlets, including Reuters. Her work has been featured in the Guardian, Radio Freedom, Le Monde, and recently exhibited at the Venice Biennale of Architecture as part of The Laboratory of the Future.
Ekaterina holds an MA in Documentary Film from the University of the Arts London (2017), completed with a film on an isolated village in Siberia and a dissertation on postmemory. Currently, she continues to investigate the fields of memory and documentary through a research project for her PhD in Communications and Arts at School of Social Sciences and Humanities at NOVA University of Lisbon under the supervision of Professor Maria Irene Aparício (CineLab) and supported by an FCT scholarship.
