Unconscious/Television
Launch of Lucas Ferraço Nassif's book at Linha de Sombra bookstore

On January 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM, the launch of the book Unconscious/Television by Lucas Ferraço Nassif, a researcher at CineLab and member of the ERC Project Film and Death, will take place at the Linha de Sombra Bookstore, at Cinemateca Portuguesa. Published by Becoming Press, Unconscious/Television explores moving images through a discussion of Jacques Lacan’s texts and seminars in tension with Félix Guattari, proposing a clinic and theory of the unconscious that bridges psychoanalysis and schizoanalysis. To this end, the researcher examines narratives created for television and multiplanar images found in anime.

On January 21, 2025, at 6:00 PM, a discussion about the book will also be held at Colégio Almada Negreiros (room SA), featuring Lucas Ferraço Nassif and the editors of Becoming Press.

The discussion around Unconscious/Television continues on January 22, this time in the context of Open Secret, a touring offsite event curated by Dana Dawud, which showcases time-based films deploying new media and emerging technologies within online culture. This gathering will begin at 6:00 PM at Casa do Comum do Bairro Alto.
