2nd Luso-Brazilian Colloquium on Leibniz Translation: Leibniz and Cartesianism
Building on a longstanding collaboration with Brazilian scholars, the School of Social Sciences and Humanities of NOVA University Lisbon will host the 2nd Luso-Brazilian Colloquium on Leibniz Translation, organised by IFILNOVA in collaboration with CHAM. Dedicated to the study, translation, and interpretation of G. W. Leibniz’s work, this edition of the Colloquium focuses on Leibniz and Cartesianism. Taking as its point of departure the multiple forms of Leibniz’s critical engagement with Cartesian philosophy, the Colloquium aims to deepen the study of the reception and translation of Cartesian philosophy within Leibniz’s thought, as well as to explore the philological, philosophical, and historical challenges involved in interpreting and translating Leibniz’s writings devoted to this theme.
