William James: Problemas e Práticas de Filosofia

This event, taking place on 30 November, is both a celebration of the launch of the book Alguns Problemas de Filosofia by William James and a discussion between António de Castro Caeiro and Pietro Gori on its various aspects. Published by Edições 70 in 2023, organised by Pietro Gori who also contributed the introduction and notes, and translated by Daniel Torres Pacheco, this book brings together essential themes of William James’ philosophical thought. These themes include radical empiricism, pragmatism and philosophical pluralism, which converge into a unitary vision, where questions of metaphysics and epistemology acquire significance as a foundation for the practical, ethical and existential scope of human action.
