Alexandre Nascimento Braga Teixeira (Alexandre Braga) began his musical training in childhood, but later pursued communication and cinema at university in his hometown of São Paulo (Brazil). He worked in the production and direction of advertising spots and, after releasing his first fiction short film, moved to Lisbon (Portugal), where he founded BASE Comunicação Audiovisual, an audiovisual communication agency, managing specialised accounts for various brands and products. Alongside this work, he also pursued a more artistic practice in poetry film, fiction, and drama.
He completed a master’s degree in Film Project Development, specialising in Narratology and Cinematic Narratives, and earned a PhD in Communication Sciences, also specialising in Cinema, at NOVA University Lisbon. He currently works as a researcher at the NOVA Institute of Philosophy (IFILNOVA) and teaches Audiovisual Communication at a vocational school in Lisbon.
He frequently works as a consultant in narrative and script development for film projects. He founded PROSA Plataforma Cultural, a community project that promotes the sharing of narratives as a form of self-care, through activities related to narrative and visual arts. At PROSA, under his curation, weekly film screenings and cycles are organised, followed by discussions.
